Brazil VS Serbia – WC Match #16
Brazil beat Serbia to take the top position in the group G table. Earlier in the day, Switzerland beats Cameroon and now sits second on the table with also 3 points. It was a good game of football. The fans of both sides made a wonderful atmosphere in Lusail stadium. It was a comfortable win for Brazil and they were also able to keep a clean sheet.
Serbia did well to not let Brazil score for an hour until the first whistle. But the way Brazil was attacking was just a matter of time and after an hour and 2 minutes, Brazil scored. And 11 minutes later Brazil doubled their lead with an outrageous goal score by Richarlison. Then Serbia just let Brazil take possession and they defended till the last whistle.
Brazil looked Dangerous
Brazil attempted 22 shots of which 8 were on target. They looked dangerous in the first half but didn’t score. Alex Sandro’s attempt hit the post and Serbia was saved. But in the 62nd minute Richarlison scored the opener. Neymar used his dancing feet to clear the room and then Vinicius fired the ball toward the keeper who managed to keep the ball out but it landed in front of Richalison who scored an easy tap-in. Then in the 73rd minute, Vinicius finds Richarlison in the box and low hits a cross with the outside of his boot. Richarlison controlled the ball beautifully and scored an acrobatic goal to double the lead.
Man of the match
The Samba boys made a statement today. The man of the match reward was given to deserving Richarlison for his brace. His second goal could be the goal of the tournament. A world cup debut to be remembered!
Neymar left the pitch due to an injury that happened at the game. He left out crying and it looked like he will be ruled out of this world cup. However, Brazil’s coach Tite has said that he is fine and will be playing for Brazil in this world cup. Brazil will look forward to staying at the top of the table and qualifying for the round of 16.
