France Qualifies For Next Round After Beating Denmark

France played against Denmark in the fourth match of Group D. It was a good match as both sides scored and any team could have won but Kylian Mbappe made sure that France take all the points. Denmark tried to win the game after leveling France’s lead but it was not enough. The defending champions became the first team to qualify for the round of 16 of FIFA World Cup 2022.

France just too good

France was better at scoring goals but Denmark won the possession stats. It was 0-0 at half-time. After the 61st minute, Mbappe beat Schmeichel and scored a wonderful goal. Then Denmark’s defender Christensen scored and tied the game. 1-1. But they had to do more as France’s Mbappe doesn’t give up until the final whistle blows. In the 86th minute, Mbappe scored again. This time he beat the defenders with his movement and found Griezmann’s cross and finish it comfortably.

Denmark was also good tonight they didn’t make it easy for France. The Danes attempted a total of 10 shots out of which 2 were on target. In the 68th minute, Andreas Christensen leveled the scoresheet after scoring with his head. It was a great ball from Eriksen. But then they were not able to go all the way.

Man of the match

PSG’s star man Kylian Mbappe was the best player tonight. His movement, pace, and dribbling all were exceptional. He scored twice and booked France’s position in the round of 16 of the world cup.

Now France is qualified for the next stage of the world cup and Denmark has to beat Australia to make it to the last 16. Australia defeated Tunisia earlier in the day by 1-0. It will be a miracle if Tunisia somehow finds its way into the next round.
