Messi Keeps World Cup Dream Alive – Argentina 2-0 Mexico

Giants of the group C Argentina are back to winning ways. They played their 2nd match against Mexico it was a must-win situation for both teams. As Argentina lost and Mexico tied their first matches. Argentinians came out on top despite Mexico’s great performance. 

Argentina is back

Argentina did well from the start. They looked for opportunities by pressing high but Mexico was good with their counter-attacks so they force Argentina to stay back. The first half was a fair fight both Argentina and Mexico were good with the ball. But Argentina came out on top after halftime. Before halftime, Argentina only produced 1 shot. But after an hour and 4 minutes, Lionel Messi the leader of Argentina scored a beautiful goal. He fired from 25 yards into the bottom corner. And in the 87th minute, Argentina scored again. This time Messi assisted young Enzo Fernandez who doubled their lead. 

Mexico did well to oppose Lionel Messi and his teammates. They lack a striker which was visible today. But otherwise, they gave Argentinians a tough time. They managed to get 4 shots out of which 1 was on target. Now they are at the bottom of their group. 

Man of the match

Who else but Lionel Messi. A man-of-the-match performance from the little maestro. He was the difference between that two sides. Scored a wonderful goal and then assisted to seal the deal. Messi keeps the hope of Argentina alive. 

Poland beats KSA earlier in the day and now sits at top of the group whereas Mexico is at the bottom and Argentina is in 2nd position. Argentina will be facing Poland and KSA will face Mexico in the last match of the group. The final day will be full of excitement for the fans as any two teams can qualify.
