Brazil Qualifies After Defeating Switzerland

Switzerland faced the talented attacking side Brazil in the 4th match of group G. Despite not being their best, Brazil managed to steal the victory in the last 10 minutes. With this win, Brazil has booked its place in the next stage of this world cup. It was a good game but the lack of quality in the final third was the reason Switzerland remained unable to score. 

Swiss Lacked in finishing

In the first half, Switzerland asked some questions but was unable to test Alisson. The swiss were looking for a victory as they could have qualified after the last match win. But Switzerland failed as it is not easy to beat Brazil. They manage to attempt 6 shots out of which none was on target. They lacked quality in the final third and in the 83rd minute they conceded. After that, it was not much in the game for them but a draw could benefit them. Currently, they sit in the 2nd position at the table. So it will be decided on the final day whether they will qualify or not.

Brazil missing Neymar

Brazil was good in the first half but they surely were missing their star man Neymar, who was ruled out because of an injury in the first match against Serbia. Vinicius and Raphinha forced Sommer to make some light saves. But the swiss did well to defend their goal line. In the 66th minute, Vinicius managed to find the bottom corner but the goal was ruled out as he was offside. But Casemiro scored a half-volley just 7 minutes before 90 and steal the 3 points for Brazil. They have qualified for the round of 16. Their final match will be important as the other 3 teams in the group still have a chance to qualify.

Man of the match

Five times Champions League winner and tonight’s goal scorer Casemiro should win the man of the match as he was amazing with the goal. And he also did well in assisting Vinicius when the goal was disallowed. Manchester United’s star midfielder goal was the reason that the Samba boys are in the last 16. 

Brazil has made it into the round of 16 so, the final day of group G will be interesting as the remaining 3 teams have a fighting chance. Let’s see what more drama happens in this amazing group.
