Iran Left Devastated After USA Progress

Iran played against the USA in their last group match. Iran looked threatening but Pulisic’s goal made the difference. The USA won the match and will now go to the next stage of the tournament alongside England.

Match Breakdown

The USA played really well. They are always well organized. They attempted 12 shots out of which 5 were on target. In the 38th minute of the game, Christian Pulisic gave them the lead and then they keep on defending it until the final whistle. It was a good goal as McKennie found Dest, and Dest headed the ball toward Pulisic, and he scored the only goal of the game. Pulisic got injured and was rushed to hospital. The Americans will be happy to go to the next stage of the world cup.

Iran was not impressive in the first half, they looked threatening in the 2nd half but the damage was already done and the US side didn’t let them do anything. They attempted only 4 shots out of which 1 was on target. They failed to get past Turner. However, it was a good world cup for Iran. But their journey will end here. In the last minute, Iran wanted a penalty but the Referee didn’t find enough contact on Taremi so they lost the game.

Man of the match

Chelsea’s winger Christian Pulisic won the man of the match, his second of the tournament. He was looking very sharp and uncatchable for Iranians. Although he got injured, his goal was the difference between both sides. We hope this is not some serious injury as the USA needs their star man in next round.

As Iran has lost their last match against the USA so they will be going home. The USA will celebrate their victory as they have moved on to the next stage of the tournament alongside England who defeated Wales. The group B winners are England following the USA, who are in second place. England will face Senegal and the USA will face the Netherlands in the round of 16.
