Tunisia Failed To Qualify But Stuns France

The final day in group D was full of emotions. Tunisia made headlines as they beat France 1-0. However, it was not of any benefit but the game can just be a confidence booster for them. It was a good game and Tunisia did whatever it can to qualify. They did their part by beating the defending champions of their group but Australia beat Denmark so Tunisia had to go home. 

Match Breakdown

Tunisia played a really good game they were firm with their defense and did let the amazing squad of France cross the scoreline. They attempted 5 shots out of which 3 were on target. In the 58th minute, they finally scored. Loudoun plays the ball forward to Khazri. Khazri then glides the ball into the far corner to seal the deal as at that time the hopes were alive for them and this goal was a dream come true. 

We can say France started their B team against Tunisia, no big stars were seen in the starting lineup. France was good with the possession and with the ball but didn’t manage to score. They took 10 shots out of which 3 were on target. In the final moments of the match, France did cross the scoreline. Griezmann fired the loose ball in the far corner to score the goal but after the VAR review, he was offside. So they didn’t find any goal to equalize. But they will still go to the round of 16.

Wahbi Khazri the man of the match award winner really deserved the award. He did everything to make sure his nation qualified but couldn’t happen. They won the match but lost the war. 

Tunisia played a really good tournament they draw against Denmark, had one loss and had one of the biggest wins in their history by defeating defending champions. The final results are, France and Australia will qualify for the next stage of the world cup and Tunisia and Denmark have to go home.
