England 3-0 Senegal – Another Dominant English Performance

england-senegal

England qualified for the quarter-finals after beating Senegal. It was a good match but Senegal remained unable to score as the lack of quality in the final third was poor. The final score was 3-0 and Senegal will go home after this loss. They did great to qualify for the round of 16 but their Qatar 2022 world cup journey ends here.

Senegal was good in the first period as they looked ambitious but in the 2nd half, it was all about England. They managed to attempt 10 shots out of which 1 was on target. They conceded two goals in the first half and one in the second. They surely missed Sadio Mane as maybe he could change the scoreline but these are all buts and ifs so it doesn’t matter now.

England’s Red Hot form

England started the game keeping possession and looking for opportunities. They were the tough team on paper and they proved in the Al Bayt Stadium that they are still here to win the competition. Jordan Henderson opened the scoring in the 38th minute and gave England the lead. Jude Bellingham made an assist to him. Then just before halftime, Foden put the ball toward the captain, Kane, and delivered his first World Cup 2022 goal. In the 57th minute, Foden again assisted another goal. Bukayo Saka scored the third goal and after that, they just created opportunities while keeping Senegal at the arm’s length.

Man of the match

Harry Kane won the man of the match but the whole England team was phenomenal. The defense was rock solid, Henderson scored a beautiful goal, Foden assisted twice, and Jude Bellingham might not score a goal but he did well all 90 minutes. The Dortmund youngster is fast and he finds spaces between the defense lines.

France defeated Poland earlier and now England will play against France in the quarter-finals. It’s a mouth-watering fixture as both teams are in great form. France should not take this England side for granted. May the best team win.
